The International Grandma began as a labor of love.  My first and only grandchild was born in Japan, where she will likely live forever, and my husband and I live in the United States.  How would I cope with that reality?   It then dawned on me that there are many others in the same situation — grandparents and parents whose loved ones live a world away.  I am compelled to create a community where we can lean on one another for support and resources.   We may be different races, religions and nationalities, but we all have one thing in common — an enormous piece of our hearts can be found in another part of the world!
